The MEGLA Performance Equations Analyser was developed in the OSIsoft PI systems calculated tags to edit PI Performance Equations (PE-formulas) comfortable in large numbers. For ProcessBook datasets and the like can be used.
It is an indispensable tool in the development of new formulas and test and debug existing formulas.
Follow the English video presentation of MEGLA PE Analyser on Youtube:
(To zoom in, press the full-screen button in the lower right corner of the window)
With a few clicks all PE tags are analyzed and an Excel spreadsheet returns the result with precise information on the nature and position of a possible error in the formula.
The MEGLA PE analyzer tests the PE expression in three phases. The error positions are marked in the PE expression:
In Phase 1, clip planes, IF-THEN-ELSE structures, quotes and functions tested.
In Phase 2, the day against the PI server are checked for their validity and BadValues.
In Phase 3, finally, the entire PE-expression to the PI Server is sent to the calculation.
All errors are displayed next to the PE formula in the table "Performance_Equations". In addition to the colored identification errors are always underlined. The color coding of the tag name in accordance Excel formulas is optional. All colors are configurable.
The MEGLA PE analyzer not only helps in checking of PE formulas and check the validity of tag names and values.
Even during the development of Performance Equations he is an indispensable tool.
During development and during the tests PE formulas are comfortable clearly structured:
Indentation, comments and color coding make the PE expression clearly.
The number of requests to the PI server or export the tags structures and comments are not transferred.
The PE Tags developed or corrected using the MEGLA PE Analyser can be created or edited using the Excel addin PI SMT day Configurator on the PI Server.
In addition to the functions described above, and PE formulas without corresponding PE day can be developed with the MEGLA PE Analyser. For this, the PE formula is simply entered in the column "Performance_ Equations". After completing and testing, these PE formula can be copied to other locations, such as in a PI Process Book dataset.
The Excel AddIn "PI SMT" (PI Configurator day) must be installed, as well as a current PI-SDK 1.3.x.
